The medical device maker ReproMed Systems specializes in portable medical appliances that are critical to patience comfort and help in promoting a normal lifestyle. In 2009, the company proposed an initiative with the New York State TAAC (Trade Adjustment Assistance Center) to develop a new subcutaneous (hypodermic) needle set for infusion of medication. NY TAAC works with firms in their state to provide funding assistance that levels the playing field in industries challenged by low cost or unfair trade practices from overseas companies.
After careful review and citing our engineering and development expertise, along with favorable pricing and close proximity, Tri-Tech Tool & Design was selected to participate in bringing the product to market.
In advance of the award, Tri-Tech prepared a detailed proposal for NY TAAC including projected costs, timelines, and detailed descriptions of the work to be completed. ReproMed Systems and NY TAAC approved the proposal, which resulted in the creation of a new product line for the company and the creation of several new jobs at their facility. Tri-Tech provided the product designs, models, prototype molds, and production tooling for the project.
Today with component parts and consistent Tri-tech expertise, the High Flo(TM) subcutaneous needle sets provide patients all over the world with more comfort and less insertion difficulty.
