Cap innovation powers a veterinary product

In 2005, Summit Vet Pharm , LLC a division of Sumitomo corporation decided to produce a line of veterinarian products to complement their retail business. The centerpiece of the new line was to be a new flea and tick formula applied to pets once monthly. Along with the new formula, the company also wanted to develop new packaging and a new delivery system.

Tri-Tech had been working with the packaging engineers at Summit for some time, presenting electronic models of ideas when Summit released the veterinarian project. Summit provided Tri-Tech a set of design goals for a new cap to the foil lined tubes they had planned to use for this product. Tri-Tech was able to present a new innovative closure that met all requirements. The patented design is now sold by Ceva Animal Health, and Tri-Tech is molding millions of applicators each year.
